Description
The Battle Axe Program is an advanced program. Named after my middle son, Oliver, this program is a 16-week hybrid powerlifting/athletic program. This program is for the beginner strength athlete that wants to maintain cardiorespiratory endurance as well as gain strength. Pretty simple concept, work up to 3 rep maxes in the major compound lifts and then quite a bit of volume for the accessories. You’ll lift two days straight and then have a recovery day (that does NOT mean rest). Your recovery day will be a run, row or bike ride for 40 minutes at a percentage of your max heart rate, the formula is in the program. This program, much like Oliver, is a beast, your nutrition and sleep will be one of the keys to you seeing the results that you want. The other key is good old-fashioned guts. Like all my programs, I’ve done this one, so I know that you are going to be sore and tired, but I also saw a significant increase in all my lifts running up to my last powerlifting meet. So dig in and grind it out!
