The “Best” Movement you aren’t doing!
The “best” movement that you aren’t doing doesn’t exist! I see every fitness guru on social media extolling their latest version of a Bulgarian Split Squat or some mobility routine, and claiming that it the best movement to add to your program and why.
Well, I say that is not only arrogant but also sets folks up for failure. Who’s to say that that movement works for everyone of that it has a purpose in everyone’s training? Those statements are made by trainers and coaches that are looking to take the easy way out. They want to create a “one size fits all” program and cut down on the amount of work they have to do. Instead of providing each client with programming that fits that individual.
That isn’t to say that everyone cannot benefit from a Bulgarian Split Squat, but it may not fit into a clients program just yet due to the client not having gained the balance necessary to safely accomplish that movement. That is just an off the top example.
Programming should be planned and executed like practice medicine. Not every medication will work the same every patient. The biology and physiology of the human body is very similar in each human but their are differences. If there weren’t differences there wouldn’t be three different body types.
We live in a world that loves to celebrate differences, why would any coach or client submit themselves to a “one size fits all” approach? Why wouldn’t someone take the time and put the effort into getting each client to their goals the best way possible?
Granted there are plenty of similarities in every program, but if I have a client that has poor abductor and adductor strength, they will do quite a bit more banded lateral walks than a client that doesn’t have this issue.
The bottom line is that every person is different and every person has different strengths and weaknesses that must be carefully considered and planned for. The best movement differs per every person and a good coach will consider this and place that person in the best position to reach their goals in manner that will not cause injury.
That is what our clients receive, carefully, thoughtfully planned programming that is built specifically to their goals, not programming that every one gets. There is no “method” their is a philosophy here at Parabellum. The philosophy is “hard work, consistency, and a strong belief in God” will pay off. We are developing not only a physically stronger body, but a more confident person and if you’ll allow us, we will share our love of the Lord!
